Video Game Project 3? A bunch of editors that made amvs to video game remixes.
Want to
see the Video Game Project 3 ?
The project will be premiering at AWA11 (hopefully :P)
(Anime Weekend Atlanta 11 2005)
Blatanty obvious guidelines:
If you can't follow/agree with these, don't join!
General:
1. I accept that my video may not be part of the ConMix. I know that ANY completed videos I make WILL be included in the Ultimate VG3 Project Mix (which will consist of ALL completed videos). I will not be a jerk or make videos for tracks I am not assigned (such as "waaah, I wanted that mix and so I made a BETTER video for it than other person"). If I am a jerk I will remove myself from the project before someone else does.
2. I will offer constructive and friendly criticism. I will take criticism without freaking out.
3. I will pick and work on ONE track for this project. Do not assume you will make more than one. Find one you are passionate about and get it done well/right.
4. I will use game footage and/or sprites.
5. I will attempt to use anime footage and attempt to connect the game/anime. THIS MEANS YOU JBONE.
6. I accept that at the discretion of the coordinators, my video may be removed from the project at any given time.
7. I will limit the use of CG sequences to those appropriate and fitting to the video. I am making an AMV after all.
8. I will inform the coordinators of ANY issues that come up that will keep me from completing my track on time (or meeting one of the deadlines). We will hunt you down, but don't try our patience too much.
Deadlines:
1. For those who have not worked on the previous projects we will require some kind of "proof-of-concept" video (short beta) by April 3rd. This will give you a chance to verify that you can make what you are hoping to as well as prove that you are passionate about the idea. Please have this completed long before the April date.
2. Beta - July 31st. Show that you aren't lazy!
3. Deadline - September 4th
Note: If you do not meet the above deadlines you will be ridiculed by the coordinators and risk being asked to leave the project. Exceptions will and can be made based on the given situation.
Technical:
1. You will encode the final copy @ 29.97/720x480 in mpeg-2 (exporting a 23.976 with 3:2 pulldown etc. is fine) IT MUST PLAY ON A STANDARD NTSC TV THROUGH A HOLLYWOOD+ CARD.
2. You will include 15 frames (assuming 29.97) of black before and after your video. EXACTLY 1/2 SECOND.
3. You will use the title safe areas when producing your title cards AND and video game graphics etc.
4. You will keep your video length to ~3:00 at maximum. Stepping over by a couple seconds will be tolerated. Please consider the fact that we may have many videos so 2:30 is the average we would like to maintain.
5. You will use DVD(or near quality) footage for your video. No crappy Divx or otherwise.
6. You will use the yahoo group to pose any technical problems/questions. Please don't hesistate to ask how to do something. After two projects there is a good chance that the editors involved can help out.
